Last Will and Testament of John Ramsay - March 3, 1874

Written March 03, 1874 filed for probate on June 29,1874

In the name of "Our Father Who Art In Heaven" , I John Ramsay of the County of Cherokee and State of Kansas and of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament.

First.., I do will and bequeath to each of my sons and daughter to wit; George Ramsay, James Ramsay, David Ramsay, and Anna Ramsay intermarried with Harry Revell, the sum of One Dollar ($1.00) each to be paid to them respectively by my executor out of the proceeds of my estate.

Second.., to my beloved son James Ramsay I do will and bequeath my mower and reaper upon condition that my wife shall have the free use of the same while she lives.

Third.., I do will and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Anna Ramsay all of my property, both real and personal consisting of the homestead claim upon which I reside , our yoke of oxen, two cows, one heifer, one mare, hogs, blacksmith tools, farming implements, household furniture and other articles not herein particularly mentioned, to be her sole and seperate property, under he own control absolutely, including growing crops.

Fourth.., and I do hereby make , constitute and appoint my dearly beloved wife Anna Ramsay to be my executor of this my last will and testament.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed this instrument of writing this third (3rd) day of March A.D. 1874 at my house in Cherokee County , Kansas in the presence of the witnesses named below.

the foregoing will and testament was signed by John Ramsay the testator in our presence on the day of its date, in testimony whereof we have hereunto , at his request , signed our names respectively as subscribing witnesses thereto, in the presence of the said John Ramsay and in the presence of each other, this 3rd day of March A.D. 1874.
