Viola Ida Pearl Hamilton - Parents and Siblings
January 18, 2018

File posted for a cousin, in response to a question about her grandparents: William & Rosa (Porter) Hamilton were relatively young when they died -- they were age 69 and 64 respectively. This file has much of the info Glen has on Viola (her mother's mother), her folks and her aunts and uncles: William McCord Hamilton (1834-1903) and Rosa Lucenda Porter (1860-1924), and their children Mary Clarissa, James Edward, Alice Amelia, William Arthur, Albert Raymond, and Viola Ida Pearl Hamilton (1897-1971), a school teacher who married Alvia Joseph Daniel Spence, a WW1 veteran who worked on the railroad as a section boss. It's remarkable that, as a 21st-century family member, one has a grandfather who fought and was seriously injured in the Civil War -- as far as known, this cousin is the only living great-grandchild of common ancestors John & Altha (Judd) Hamilton.
