Greenberry Shields Templeton Family Bible

One of the treasures that Connie (Hamilton) Boone has in her possession is the Greenberry Shields Templeton family Bible. In this PDF document I have digital photographs of pages of the Bible that contain family records. Between one set of pages is a lock of braided hair. Could it be a lock of hair from Greenberry's first wife, Nancy Jane McCarty, the mother of Julia Aletha and Laura Annette Templeton? I would say this is actually a good guess. The lock of hair is preserved opposite the page that records Greenberry and Nancy's wedding information. Nancy died due to complications from childbirth on Sept. 24, 1882. Her husband and young daughters would have treasured this lock all their days. This Bible is a wonderful record and a family treasure. Thanks to Connie for sharing it with us. Julia Aletha "Allie" was the wife of Frank Hamilton. Laura Annette "Nettie" was the wife of Frank's brother, Judd Hamilton. Both boys were the sons of Supplina and Jane Hamilton.
