History of the Cumberland Presyterian Church, Virginia, Cass County, Illinois

This document written in 1955 remembers the history of this pioneer church founded in 1827. It is very likely that John and Altha Hamilton were members of this congregation. One of the founding ministers was William McCord. He died in 1833. In 1834 John and Altha named one of their newborn twins William McCord Hamilton, very likely, in honor of Rev. William McCord.
